I couldn't wait for drawing on Tuesday, so I did a truckload of doodles between home and work. Let's dive right in...
I've think my people looking too similar to each other, so I decided to draw (1) a pic of Tom Cruise in the hope that I'd see some features that can make people look different. Instead, I made Tom Cruise look like the rest of my people. Ugh. The second pic is from my desk at home, too. It's just a buncha weird poop. Now you know what I doodle while I browse the web. (Keep both hands on the keyboard, Alan.) The third pic is like the second pic, the fourth pic is from a meeting I was bored of at work and so is (5) the last pic.

I've mentioned "secret project" stuff here and there in past updates, and I finally asked for the go-ahead from Rhyan Scorpio-Rhys to post the pin-ups I did for him. The theme was "angels", for a book called Genaissance that he's created for small press publishing, at his Visual Assault Comics Press. He's a little guy trying to make it in a tough industry -- he could use your support!
The first two pics are of the first pinup: (1) the final drawing, and (2) a darkened version (so I could see what inks might look like on it). (3) The second pin-up is pretty similar in design (sorry). I had a lot of freedom when designing angels, and I tried to do something more representative of wings when I thought I could (see the November and October '99 stuff for more angel designs). The last two pics are (4) finished drawing and (5) darkened versions of the third and last pin-up I did. It's a compilation shot of several angels Rhyan had designed.

I've put up the lost updates from last week along with today's update. It looks like I've been light on the drawing recently. Tonight I buried the myth that artists cannot draw straight lines or circles by drawing some liney, circley "mech-thing". Pannng!

Happy New Years! To celebrate my recovery from the sore throat and racking coughs that plagued me through the whole event, I did (1) a jedi picture for a cool someone out there (an "eopie" is one of those camel things from Episode One) and (2) some doodles (accompanied by my buddy Walter's signature). I keep expecting to see flying cars and topless women zipping around outside, but Y2K's been pretty disappointing in that respect. Hmm...
